Senior Director of Dining Services, Miguel Q. Ruvalcaba works with his staff of dining professionals to provide healthy and tasty meals for all the students, staff, faculty and guests who utilize HMC’s dining facility. The Dining Commons team uses their considerable experience and talents in the foodservice field to offer special meals and events on campus, including sushi, expanded holiday menus, ethnic cuisine, the ever-popular Hochsgiving Dinner, and the Hochsmas Dinner!

Resident
All students in residence are required to be on a meal plan. Continuing students living in the Atwood Efficiencies, Linde Apartments, or in the Sontag Residence Hall may elect to be on or off the meal plan.
The cost and billing of the meal plan is handled by the Office of Student Accounts. Requests to change plans should be directed to that office or the dean of residential life during the first week of the semester.

USING YOUR MEAL PLAN
Meal plans and “Board Plus” can be used at any of The Claremont Collegesdining halls and snack bar facilities that accept the dining card. “Board Plus” are spent like a pre-paid credit card and cannot be traded for cash.
All students in residence are required to be on the meal plan. Continuing students living in the Atwood Efficiencies, Linde Apartments or in the Sontag Residence Hall may elect to be on or off the meal plan.
Students who wish to change meal plans should select their desired option by September 4, 2024 for the fall semester and January 29, 2025 for spring semester. Reducing the number of meals per week is NOT permitted after the above deadlines.

Claremont Cash
Another option available to Harvey Mudd College students is the Claremont Cash program. Students and/or parents may add discretionary funds to a debit account accessed with the student's ID card. Deposits can be made by cash, check or credit card at the Claremont Card Center; by check or credit card online; or by credit card via phone at 909.607.CARD (909)607.2273.
You can use Claremont Cash to purchase food, beverages or any other item sold at any campus eatery or convenience store (including Jay's Place, The Cafe, Hoch-Shanahan Dining Commons and the vending machine by Jacobs B101 and in the living room of the Platt Campus Center). Claremont Cash can also be used at Huntley Bookstore and at several off-campus merchants.
